When my daughter was born, it was recommended that we do skin to skin time by placing her on my chest.

The experience was cool and it helped me bond with my baby.

But what I’ve since learned is that it has a huge impact on the mother, as well as the baby.

Skin- to-skin time, right after birth, can help the baby start feeding earlier, as well as helping with their digestion, temperature regulation, it even helps with passing immune properties through the mother’s skin to the baby when it is skin to skin time, and it is super important that this is done early on and often up to two times a day with an hour each session.

It even helps the mother have decreased odds of postpartum depression.

It even has been shown with teenagers to help decrease their odds of depression as well.

Skin-to-skin time is super important for dads as well.

It helps to decrease their testosterone, which means they’re going to be in a better mood, decrease anxiety, and it’s going to help them be calmer as well and increase the bonding with their child.
